All Saints&#8216; Day is the second day of\u00a0<a title=\"Hallowmas\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hallowmas\">Hallowmas<\/a>,<sup><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/All_Saints%27_Day#cite_note-4\">[4]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0and begins at sunrise on the first day of November and finishes at sundown. It is the day before\u00a0<a title=\"All Souls' Day\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/All_Souls%27_Day\">All Souls&#8216; Day<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<a title=\"Western Christian Church\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Western_Christian_Church\">Western Christian<\/a>\u00a0theology, the day commemorates all those who have attained the\u00a0<a title=\"Beatific vision\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Beatific_vision\">beatific vision<\/a>\u00a0in Heaven. It is a\u00a0<a title=\"Public holiday\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Public_holiday\">national holiday<\/a>\u00a0in many historically\u00a0<a title=\"Catholic countries\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Catholic_countries\">Catholic countries<\/a>. In the Catholic Church and many\u00a0<a title=\"Anglican\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anglican\">Anglican<\/a>\u00a0churches, the next day specifically commemorates the departed faithful who have not yet been\u00a0<a title=\"Purgatory\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Purgatory\">purified<\/a>\u00a0and reached heaven. Christians who celebrate All Saints&#8216; Day and All Souls&#8216; Day do so in the fundamental belief that there is a prayerful spiritual bond between those in heaven (the &#8222;<a title=\"Church triumphant\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Church_triumphant\">Church triumphant<\/a>&#8222;), and the living (the &#8222;<a title=\"Church militant\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Church_militant\">Church militant<\/a>&#8222;). Other Christian traditions define, remember and respond to the saints in different ways; for example, in the\u00a0<a title=\"Methodist Church\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Methodist_Church\">Methodist Church<\/a>, the word &#8222;<a title=\"Saints in Methodism\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Saints_in_Methodism\">saints<\/a>&#8220; refers to all\u00a0<a title=\"Christian\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Christian\">Christians<\/a>\u00a0and therefore, on All Saints&#8216; Day, the\u00a0<a title=\"Church Universal\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Church_Universal\">Church Universal<\/a>, as well as the deceased members of a\u00a0<a title=\"Local congregation\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Local_congregation\">local congregation<\/a>, are honored and remembered.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/All_Saints%27_Day\">http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/All_Saints%27_Day<\/a><!--:--><!--:pl--><a title=\"Uroczysto\u015b\u0107 liturgiczna\" href=\"http:\/\/pl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Uroczysto%C5%9B%C4%87_liturgiczna\">Uroczysto\u015b\u0107<\/a>\u00a0Wszystkich \u015awi\u0119tych wywodzi si\u0119 g\u0142\u00f3wnie z czci oddawanej\u00a0<a title=\"M\u0119czennik\" href=\"http:\/\/pl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/M%C4%99czennik\">m\u0119czennikom<\/a>, kt\u00f3rzy oddali swoje \u017cycie dla wiary w\u00a0<a title=\"Jezus Chrystus\" href=\"http:\/\/pl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jezus_Chrystus\">Chrystusa<\/a>, a kt\u00f3rych nie wspomniano ani w\u00a0<a title=\"Martyrologium\" href=\"http:\/\/pl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Martyrologium\">martyrologiach<\/a>\u00a0miejscowych, ani w kanonie\u00a0<a title=\"Msza\" href=\"http:\/\/pl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Msza\">Mszy \u015awi\u0119tej<\/a>. Pierwotnie \u015bwi\u0119to to obchodzono 13 maja.<\/p>\n<p>W\u00a0<a title=\"IV wiek\" href=\"http:\/\/pl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IV_wiek\">IV wieku<\/a>\u00a0rozpowszechni\u0142a si\u0119 tradycja przenoszenia ca\u0142ych\u00a0<a title=\"Relikwie\" href=\"http:\/\/pl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Relikwie\">relikwii<\/a>\u00a0\u015bwi\u0119tych lub ich cz\u0119\u015bci, na inne miejsca. W ten spos\u00f3b chciano podkre\u015bli\u0107, \u017ce \u015bwi\u0119ci s\u0105 w\u0142asno\u015bci\u0105 ca\u0142ego Ko\u015bcio\u0142a. Dla katolik\u00f3w \u0142aci\u0144skich i wielu innych chrze\u015bcijan zachodnich jest to dzie\u0144 modlitw za wszystkich wiernych zmar\u0142ych.
